OUR RECENT LARGE-SCALE SIMULATION PROJECTS

Isonomic have worked with the Spark NEL project since 2023 on a long term project to transform the induction program for workers. We have designed and delivered multiple large scale simulation products which use the latest holographic technology – the HoloLens 2.
These immersive experience are designed to take users through complex machinery before they use this plant on a worksite. Each immersive experience is based on CAD and live project data. For this particular project we worked with Revizto platform. Where data wasn’t available we photographed established worksites and used these references to replicate the live environment in 3D.
Each product requires alignment to procedures, processes and the machine operation to ensure it replicates how they will be used on site.
This extended reality project is the perfect tool for enabling recall and retention. To date the end user feedback is incredibly positive and the experience has also been rolled out to a wider audience.

Isonomic worked on a range of product for a transformation of the Diploma of Nursing as part of a funded project with the Victorian Skills Authority. We used a range of new simulation tools to transform learning. Including an Escape Room which we co-designed with the faculty and a Forum Theatre experience which Isonomic had used previously. The escape room was an educational escape room which incorporate games to test students knowledge at a key stage in their learning.
The Forum Theatre is a relatively new technique in simulation where the audience shapes and drives the outcome of a “theatre” production which is based around a complex situation. This technique is effective at preparing new leaders, upskilling users in communication and empathy – it allows you to step in a view a situation in a live environment from all perspectives.
One critical gap solved using simulation was end users understanding of the environment they would be working in once qualified. To address this Isonomic designed and built a Virtual Hospital based around 2 different hospital in Melbourne which users were immersed in using Virtual Reality headsets.

Isonomic have a long established relationship with the VTC, a state of the art immersive tunnelling training centre. We have built multiple immersive holographic experiences in the HoloLens 1 technology – these take users into 3D holographic experiences of the entire end to end tunnelling environment – each module is placed within a lifelike environment within the centre.
These experiences have been used extensively and were the springboard to enabling different ways of thinking about how training can be innovated for safety induction training.
EXTENDED REALITY (XR)
We are leading experts in simulation experiences using Extended Reality. We deliver projects in the HoloLens headset, and Magic Leap headsets.
We work with you on the design, storyboard and build for your XR application. All applications come fully tested and ready to use.

THE VIRTUAL HOSPITAL (2023)
The Virtual Hospital Idea was born from a collaborative ideation session with nursing students as part of the FutureReady initiative. Designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real world clinical practice, our immersive VR experience offered a glimpse into a sub-acute clinical work environment.
FORUM THEATRE
Forum Theatre is an immersive workplace theatre experience that immerses users in an adverse situation, giving them an opportunity to change its course.
The audience gets to change scenes ‘live’ to create a new version of the original scenario enhancing the learning experience of dealing with adverse situations. The actors can continually steer the unfolding scenario back to making the adverse event happen but it is up to the audience to identify this, stop the scene, and ask for a script change.
Isonomic designed and wrote the Forum Theatre experience for Nursing Students at Holmesglen - rated as the greatest learning experience that prepared them for the workplace.
SIMULATED PATIENT SCENARIOS
Simulated Scenarios are a great tool in enabling practice in life like situations. These can be in person with actors, or shot as a digital or immersive virtual reality experience.
In Virtual Reality you can film and enable users to follow a choose your own adventure model to address the simulated scenario.
Isonomic have delivered both digital and virtual healthcare scenarios.
SPARK NEL PROJECT (2023 to ongoing)
For the Spark NEL project Isonomic were engaged to design and produce 8 complex extended reality training applications which included complex safety scenarios.
These replaced the traditional induction methodology and saved over 8000 hours of training downtime for workers and demonstrably reduced safety incidents on site.
These applications will run until 2028will be used as part of the induction program for underground workers.
EDUCATIONAL ESCAPE ROOMS (EERs)
We specialise in gamified learning and crafting bespoke escape rooms tailored to your specific needs. Our Educational Escape Rooms offer a unique and immersive experience, engaging learning in a gamified environment designed to motivate and inspire. By challenging participants to think critically and collaborate to solve problems, our EERs foster a dynamic learning environment where creativity thrives.
MEDICATION SAFETY EDUCATIONAL ESCAPE ROOM
Isonomic partnered with Holmesglen Institute to design an Educational Escape Room for nursing students. Through the use of 7 different games ranging in complexity,
it consolidated concepts about medication safety and created a fun and immersive environment which fostered creativity, problem solving, collaboration and communication.
